Assistance Grant for Aided Ashram Schools for Scheduled Caste Boys and Girls Run by Voluntary Organizations

Main Objective of the Scheme:
- To enable backward class students to complete their education and reduce the dropout rate among backward class students in rural areas.
Key Conditions of the Scheme:
- The schools and the courses run by the schools must be recognized.
- The schools should be considered in districts where the literacy rate of Scheduled Caste women is less than 30% (as per the 2001 census).
- No more than two schools/projects will be approved in the same district.
- The projects/schools must have state government approval.
- The financial capacity of the voluntary organizations will be considered.
Nature of Benefits:
- Employee Salaries: 100% grant for salaries of school and hostel staff.
- Nutritional Grant: Nutritional grant for resident students in primary ashram schools for 10 months.
- Building Rent: 75% of the rent certified by the Public Works Department will be provided to the institution.
- Contingency Grant: 15% of the total salary of teachers and superintendents will be provided as contingency expenses.
- Facilities: Scheduled Caste students in ashram schools will be provided with notebooks, books, stationery, uniforms, bedding, blankets, soap, oil, etc., under the facilities.
