Main Objective of the Scheme:
To provide food, accommodation, educational materials, maintenance allowance, and other necessary facilities to Scheduled Caste and Neo-Buddhist students who are eligible for admission to government hostels but have not been admitted or have not taken admission in government hostels, and who are unable to pursue further education due to lack of these facilities. This applies to students in 11th and 12th standards and those admitted to various levels of vocational and non-vocational courses in colleges/educational institutions after 12th standard.
Key Conditions of the Scheme:
- विद्यार्थी शासकीय वसतीगृहात प्रवेश घेण्यास पात्र असावा.
- The student must be eligible for admission to a government hostel.
- The student must be a resident of Maharashtra.
- The student must be admitted to a course eligible for government hostel admission.
- The student must belong to the Scheduled Caste or Neo-Buddhist category.
- The student must submit a caste certificate.
- The student must link their Aadhaar number to the bank account opened in a nationalized/scheduled bank.
- The annual income of the student’s parents should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh. If the income limit for post-matric scholarships is increased by the central government, the same limit will apply to this scheme.
- The student should not be a local resident.
- Students studying in colleges/educational institutions within a 5 km radius of the municipal corporation limits are also eligible for this scheme.
- The student must be pursuing education in 11th, 12th, or higher education.
- Students taking admission in 11th standard must have secured at least 50% marks in 10th standard.
- Students must have secured at least 50% marks in 12th standard to avail of this scheme for further undergraduate/postgraduate education.
- For any recognized course of at least two years duration, the student must have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent grade/CGPA.
- Selection of students will be based on merit.
- No special concessions will be applicable for this scheme.
- Students must apply to the Assistant Commissioner’s office of the district where they are studying, regardless of where they are studying in Maharashtra.

Note: In addition to the above amounts, students in medical and engineering branches will receive Rs. 5,000 per year, and students in other branches will receive Rs. 2,000 per year as a lump sum for educational materials.
