Grants to NGOs for Building Memorials of Eminent Persons from Scheduled Castes and Neo-Buddhist Communities and Developing Cultural and Historical Sites

Main Objective of the Scheme:
To build memorials for eminent persons from Scheduled Castes and Neo-Buddhist communities, develop culturally and historically significant sites for Scheduled Castes, and provide grants to NGOs for projects based on the cultural and ethical values of Scheduled Castes.
Key Conditions of the Scheme:
- The NGO Must be registered under the Charitable Trusts Act, Companies Act (Section 25), or Societies Registration Act.
- Must have worked in the public sector for at least three years.
- Must submit an audit report for the past three years conducted by a Chartered Accountant from the Comptroller and Auditor General of India’s panel.
- The NGO must be financially capable of maintaining and repairing the project in the future (bond required).
- No more than two trustees should be from the same family or have blood relations (affidavit required).
- Office bearers and members of the NGO must belong to the Scheduled Castes or Neo-Buddhist category.
- Only Scheduled Castes and Neo-Buddhists converted from Scheduled Castes in Maharashtra are eligible for this scheme. NGOs run by individuals converted to Buddhism from other castes and categories in Maharashtra are not eligible.
- The NGO’s office bearers and members must never belong to non-Scheduled Castes in the future, and the maximum benefit of the projects should go to Scheduled Castes (joint affidavit by the president and secretary required).
- All members of the NGO must have caste certificates and caste validity certificates.
- The building must have first aid facilities as per government standards.
- The project must start within one year of receiving administrative approval, and the NGO must complete the project within the construction period determined by the Public Works Department.
- The buildings under the project cannot be transferred to other institutions/individuals or rented out without prior government approval.
