Main Objective of the Scheme:
To provide financial assistance to Scheduled Caste individuals to reduce the financial burden on parents during marriage.
Key Conditions of the Scheme:
- The bride and groom must be permanent residents of Maharashtra..
- The groom must be at least 21 years old and the bride must be at least 18 years old.
- Caste certificate issued by a competent authority.
- The grant is permissible for the first marriage of the bride and groom. However, widows are also eligible for the benefit for their second marriage.
- Either both or one of the newlyweds must belong to the Scheduled Castes (Neo-Buddhist) category.
- A written affidavit stating that the couple/family has not violated any provisions of the Child Marriage Prohibition Act or the Dowry Prohibition Act.
- For mass marriage ceremonies, the organization must arrange the marriage of at least 10 couples simultaneously.
Benefits of the Scheme:
- ₹20,000/- is provided to the bride’s father, mother, or guardian via a crossed cheque on the day of the marriage.
- An incentive grant of ₹4,000/- per couple is given to the organizing institution or organization for mass marriage ceremonies.
