Maintenance Allowance for Scheduled Caste Students in Sainik Schools

Main Objective of the Scheme:
To enable backward class students to gain admission to the National Defence Academy, foster a desire to join the armed forces during their student life, and cultivate qualities such as discipline, self-confidence, bravery, teamwork, leadership, and patriotism.
Key Conditions of the Scheme:
- The student must be studying in classes 5th to 10th.
- The student must belong to the backward class or Scheduled Caste category.
- The annual income of the parents should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh.
Nature of Benefits:
- Full reimbursement of education fees, examination fees, food, accommodation, clothing, horse riding, pocket money, etc., for Scheduled Caste and Neo-Buddhist students studying in Sainik Schools in Nashik, Pune, and Satara
- A scholarship of Rs. 15,000 per year per student is provided to other recognized Sainik Schools.
