Main Objective of the Scheme:

To provide a maintenance allowance ranging from Rs. 235 to Rs. 700 to Scheduled Caste students residing in hostels and pursuing professional courses such as medical, engineering, agriculture, etc., under the Government of India’s Post-Matric Scholarship scheme.

Key Conditions of the Scheme:

• The student must be enrolled in a professional course.
• The student must be a recipient of the Government of India Scholarship.
• The income limit applicable to the Government of India Scholarship scheme will also apply to this scheme.

Nature of Benefits:

The maintenance allowance provided through the scholarship covers expenses for books, stationery, accommodation, food, etc., for students residing in hostels attached to professional courses, government hostels, and other hostels. In addition to the Government of India Scholarship, a maintenance allowance is provided under this scheme.

The allowance covers expenses for books, accommodation, food, stationery, etc., related to professional courses.
