Pre-Matric Scholarship for Children of Parents Engaged in Unclean Occupations

Main Objective of the Scheme:

• This scholarship scheme is implemented to provide educational opportunities to children of parents engaged in unclean occupations and to bring them into the mainstream of society.

Key Conditions of the Scheme:

• The scholarship is given to children of parents engaged in unclean occupations, traditionally related to cleaning, skinning, tanning, etc.
• This scholarship is applicable to all castes and religions.
• There is no income limit.
• Parents engaged in unclean occupations must submit a certificate from the Gramsevak and Sarpanch, Municipal Chief Officer, Municipal Commissioner/Deputy Commissioner/Division Officer certifying that they are engaged in unclean occupations.
• For children of parents included in Scheduled Castes, a caste certificate is required.

Nature of Benefits

• For students in 1st to 2nd standards not residing in hostels: Rs. 110 per month and an additional grant of Rs. 750.
• For students in 3rd to 10th standards not residing in hostels: Rs. 110 per month and an additional grant of Rs. 750.
• For students in 3rd to 10th standards residing in hostels: Rs. 700 per month and an additional grant of Rs. 1000.
